bX-btcv0r

Personally I have seen people posting a lot about this particular bx error code so that is why I decided to add it to this blog today.

This bx error code message comes up when people are working with, adding widgets to or uploading or creating new templates for their blogs on Blogger.com

Also:

  • "is the error I get when I try to save the template after "expanding widgets" even if I have made no changes to the template code"

seems to be a very popular error code

  1. Came across the same error code today. Was trying to add a 'Recommend this post' link to the 'Data:post.body' in the widget section of the HTML template - per instructions here: http://www.progressivebloggers.ca/wiki/index.php/Vote_API.

The error code came up after I'd clicked Save. Although the template shows the new code to have been been added, the display result at the end of my posts has not changed.

  2. Blogger.com has said that some of these bx error codes are temporary so you may want to wait a few days to see if the problem has solved itself.

If not you can then report it to Blogger.com.

When enough people report it then they will assign someone to look into it further.

  4. The steps to go through reporting your bx error code is to first post your problem on the Blogger.com help boards.

I'm assuming that this is because Blogger.com wants everybody to help everybody and is hoping that hopefully someone who had the same problem as you will reply to your post as to how they solve it.

The next step is you have to report your bx error code to Blogger.com by using a special form that they have set aside for reporting bx error codes. You can find a link to that form by clicking on "Resources" on the right side of the page when you are at the Blogger.com help boards. That will take you to a link where you can report your bx error code problem. When enough people report it then Blogger.com will assign someone to look into it further.

I know that it seems like a lengthy process but so far this is the only process I know that Blogger.com has for reporting the error codes.

  5. This is fun...not. I have a perfectly working blog and template. If I just go into my template, change nothing, and click save I get this error. So, in other words, you can get this error by trying to save a perfectly fine template that is already in place and already working. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

  6. Unfortunately you may think that the template that you are trying to upload is alright but there has to be a reason why Blogger.com won't accept the template.

  7. I don't think you understood the problem. I can sit down at my computer and look at my page. It works fine. It is fine and happy. I can then open the template that blogger is already running just fine, click on nothing except 'save' and it will give me this error. No upload, no change, no nothing. Just resave the existing template.

Fortunately, by using a different computer, no more error message. I could both resave the existing template it already had and add to it, then successfully save. So it was either a temporary problem or changing computers fixed it.

  8. Blogger.com has said that a lot of these bx error codes are temporary so that could be the case with what was happening to you.
